Hands on Soup Class with Leather Storrs Chef and Co-Owner at Noble Rot

We're excited to welcome Leather Storrs for an interactive soup making class in the NWFM kitchen. Leather is the chef & co-owner of Portland’s Noble Rot. In class, we’ll cover ingredients, preparation and techniques you can use at home to make your own restaurant quality soups. We’ll prepare 2 soup recipes, then eat together at the end of class. This is a hands-on class, come dressed to cook! As a bonus, all attendees receive a recipe book.

*Class size is capped at 10 to ensure hands-on participation for everyone.

About Leather

Leather Storrs is currently the head chef and co-owner of the award-winning Portland restaurant Noble Rot. With more than 20 years of culinary experience in restaurants across the country from Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California, to the French Laundry, in Yountville, California, to a guest appearance at the James Beard house in New York, Leather was called “Extremely Cool” by the New York Times. More recently, Storrs competed on, and won, an episode of “Extreme Chef” on the Food Network.

An Oregon native, Leather grew up gardening grudgingly, but an interest in food and his experience at Chez Panisse (head lettuce washer!) gave Storrs a deep appreciation for the influence that top quality raw materials have on a finished dish. The rooftop garden at Noble Rot epitomizes this connection. Storrs tends the garden and continues to steward the kitchen at Noble Rot (named Sunset magazine’s wine bar of the year for 2009).
